V-2 Manual (UK version) as four Word docs compressed into a single zip file:
(The easiest way to get the whole manual IF you know what to do with a ZIP file!)

- V-2_Manual_AboutV-2_20100123_rev1_UK.pdf [69kb]
IMPORTANT:
- Many other documents on this page still relate to V-1 - please feel free to update any of them and send them to Jon Ralls for others to use. In particular if you have UK statistical information to supplement the V-2 data, please let us know, with references so that we can follow it up, verify and reference it. Thanks!
- Only Part A has actually been edited for the UK (Thank you so much, Pippa, who did the bulk of this. I finished it off, and any remaining 'translation' errors or omissions are mine. Jon) The additional notes, appendices etc have simply been re-formatted for A4 with some re-pagination. There may be a second UK release with further edits in due course.
- DVDs - WILL BE AVAILABLE VERY SHORTLY - DETAILS WILL BE EMAILED OUT AND
THEN ALSO POSTED HERE:
PLEASE CONTACT
JON RALLS IF YOU HAVE URGENT NEED OF ONE FOR AN IMMINENT SYMPOSIUM.
(Priority will then be given to those participating
in the February launch
event as
presenters.)
- The standard DVDs (for use in a DVD player) are available now from the ATD online store for $20+shipping (the pretty packaged version) or there will shortly be 'white label' copies available from BTCI here in the UK for £10. We hope to also make the 'pretty' US-made ones available in the UK in due course.
- The UK Keynote version (for Apple Mac) will also shortly be available from BTCI priced £10. Please ensure you (a) have Keynote installed, (b) install the Shannon font (supplied on the DVD), and (c) copy the Keynote presentation file OFF the DVD onto your hard disk and eject the DVD before running the presentation.
- The PowerPoint version (for PC users) is not available yet. Watch this space...
V-1 (UK version) as four Word docs compressed into a single zip file:
- v-1_parts_a-d_UK_2009-03.zip (943 kb)
OR... Latest V-1 Manual (UK version) as individual Word docs:
- v-1_part_a_manual_v2_UK_2009-03.doc (802 kb)
- v-1_part_b_additional_resources_2_developmental_UK_2009-03.doc (542 kb)
- v-1_part_c_memo+chapter_titles_UK_2009-03.doc (239 kb)
- v-1_part_d_background_references_2009-03.doc (1.06 Mb)
(Note: Updated V-1 with minor corrections and re-pagination for A4 was posted 12 March 2009 - if you already have a usable printed manual, you do not need to replace it with this one, the edits are trivial.)
IMPORTANT: If you have the recent V-1.3 DVD as distributed at recent EarthSpirit trainings or otherwise requested since March 2009, this manual will have some minor discrepancies, mostly in the choice of buffer slides that come up at particular points. Since V-2 is in the pipeline, we may well not be producing a revised UK V-1.3 manual, but if anyone would like to create a brief list of the main differences we'll posted it here with gratitude.
UK statistics documents:
- BTCI-Symp-V1-UKdata-20090328.doc (45kb) (V-1 stats for BTCI UK manual)
- (older: C-1 UK stats for CTD manual.doc (84 kb) - compiled and paginated for C-1 manual NOT V-1, but still useful!)
Hosting & Production documents:
- HandP-QuickStart-UK-200909.pdf (548kb)
The key document for an overview of hosting and production for your Symposium. - Symp-Event-Mgmt_template_200909.xls (38kb)
The other key production document, this Excel workbook contains a materials checklist,a budget and roles allocations.
This is always in development - do feed back to Jon R on suggested improvements! - BTCI-AV-NotesDVD-200909.pdf (726kb)
The latest version of the Audio-Visual Guidelines for running your AV from a DVD player. It's still somewhat helpful if you're running from Keynote on a Mac, but obviously the mechanics are different! - Hosting & Production Guidelines - has still to be edited for V-1/UK
so, in the meantime, here is the old U.S. C-1 version of the whole thing:
- ATD_host_prod_guide_01-04-08-1_OPT.pdf (640 kb)]
Some Sample Flyers
Here are some relatively recent sample flyers to give you some ideas. Do remember that flyer design is hugely about who you are inviting. Piles of flyers at events or in cafes etc have proved to be extremely inefficient -- a flyer placed in someone's hand with a smile and a conversation is 1000 times more effective, as is a flyer emailed out to a pre-selected group by someone they know and respect!
This is another area in active development - do contact Jon R if you have marketing-related experience, and would like to be part of the team reviewing all of our promotional material in the near future.
- BTC-symp-flyer-generic-200909.pdf (938kb) - a one-page generic flyer to give out at other events - could optionally have dates for forthcoming Symposia printed on the reverse.
- BTCI-MK-Flyer-20090530.ppt (Editable!) (277kb)
- BTCI-HH-Flyer-20090425.ppt (Editable!) (171kb)
- BTCI-MK-Flyer-2009-05.doc (Editable!) (375kb)
- BTCsymp-flyer-A5-2008-12.pdf (800kb) - example for a 'high-end' living room event
- BTC3sympFlyerA5-2008-11.pdf (798kb) - the same basic design for three Symps - produced for an exhibition/fair stall
- CTD-Lewes-28June2008_flyer.pdf (204kb)
- ATD-ChucksFlyer-USA-2008.pdf (405kb) - interesting to see a completely different approach!
A Sample Press Release
It's really important, if you are trying to get local press coverage, to (a) link it to something that makes it 'news', especially linking the big issues with something local; and (b) get the press release right, to make it easy for a journalist to turn it into a story. Think 'cut and paste' here! This example is a good format:
- BTCI-PressRel-CheltApr09.doc (50kb) - PR for a symposium in Cheltenham, May 2009
Symposium Handouts [under construction!]
Constantly 'under construction'. Here are the current versions - new ones will be substituted (and flagged as 'new' as soon as they become available).

important handout for your Symposium.

646kb]

- Pathways to Participation (green/brown) [PDF, 249kb]
- Daily Practice sheets (ATD/BTC hybrid) [PDF, 424kb]

Other resources
- Be The Change book (contact Trenna for discounted copies to sell at your symposia!)
- Palo Santo: This is the lovely South American fragrant
wood that Ruel, and more recently Jon R uses at trainings for space-clearing,
rather
than
the
more smoky and pungent North American sage smudge (which can set off smoke
alarms in venues!) Sample pieces can be obtained from Jon Ralls, or larger
pieces can be purchased online from the Ayni
'shamans' shop', run by Julie and
Paul,
who trained
with Alberto Villoldo, and are very lovely people indeed:
