It is with great regret that I was only able to attend the Be the Change for one day. What a day it was! Positive, creative, regenerative, restorative, and connective.

The highlight of the day for me was the lone African voice Hafsat Abiola    who reminded us timeously of the hidden heart of Africa. So much can and has been said about the problems of Africa that people have forgotten to feel its tremendously huge heart. Ideas change the world, but it is feelings that drive change. Africa has a wellspring of love but in a world of little love its heart is not heard. Thank you Hafsat for reminding this white African what he truly has to offer the world from his African heritage. And thank you Lynne for your wonderful story of accepting money from those who gave it with love. It truly inspired my 16 year old daughter. She says don't forget RADIO if you want to reach kids and three quarters of the wolrd's population..

The challenge of Be the Change is huge. As I listened to delegates and interviewed ten of them as part of a Spiral dynamics course I was struck by the impact each had on me and just how connected each was and what an example of validation of the Be the Change process they were. Thank you each if you are reading this for making my life a bit fuller.

We can do this.

Yes I am particularly moved by Africa. Partly for the selfish reason that I lost my 18 year old niece there in an accident in Malawi whilst she was volunteering, but her letters made it clear it was her most fulfiling time.

I can think of 2 sorts of ways we can help. We could start listing which of the world's change agent networks are prioritising help in Africa where in ways that really multiply everyone's time as well as love.
I think particularly of www.margaretwheatley.com and Mary Robinson at www.eginitiative.org

I also wondered if we could translate a question Jim Garrison asked; what unique DNA's do different countries have that could be used to exemplify world human best in a colaborative way

It was clear from what Hafsat said that Nigeria cannot be bettered for women's competences in nurturing children and educating them to make their most
