Totally new here, I hope I'm not breaching etiquette
with such a shamelessly-open post.

I'm trying to develop contacts... to which end I enter
into evidence exhibit #1. Previously posted
unsuccessfully elsewhere, I'm trying again to
re-connect. If this bores/offends anyone I'm sorry -
I'm simply doing my best.

As intro, I include this clip from my site
(http://ThinkPotential.com/). I'm interested in hearing
from anyone with whom this resonates. Let's
explore.

------------------
A paradox of hard-and-soft, I'm an odd mix. With
principles & practices which integrate my personal
and commercial activities, dependent on your
viewpoint I'm either seriously sound or completely
crazy.

Commercially, I tend toward the culture epitomised
by Peters, Kawasaki, Cluetrain and Kalman. And the
bits of Fast Company that aren't
money-and-glory-oriented. Personally, I share a lot of
the traits detailed in 'Zen and the Art of Making A
Living' and the less-austere parts of Buddhism. And
let's not forget Roddick.

Saddened that a major effect of four billion years
evolution is a wrecked society and ravaged planet,
I'm an often outspoken critic of the
greed-and-stupidity-based 'modern western
lifestyle'. Appalled by the Societal focusand the
resources directed theretoon wealth and status I
consider it abhorrent that our youth are steered in
such direction, and that those to whom such folly is
recognised as the madness it really is are soundly
rejected. Pursuit of material gain to the exclusion of
self-expression and common wealth is an
anathema to me and hence, considering commerce
to be a vital opportunity to 'do something
good'rather than just make moneyI want to live
and work accordingly.

'Relax''insanely informal', I spurn 'the mannered
approach' for an altogether more Bohemian and
less-stuffy lifestyle. I try to walk a peaceful pathwith
simple tastes, modest wants and a natural
close-to-the-Earth outlook semi-reclusive,
non-smoker, rarely drink alcohol, drug-free
(recreational and medicinal),
trying-to-be-vegan-again. TreeHugger? Absolutely.
Beard? Yep. A fine pair of sandals, too.

Fairly easy going, I'm not fiercely competitive (so
many mutually-benefical advantages are missed in
nail-the-other-guy approaches). 'Rather shake your
hand than by the throat' I favor hoedown to
showdown. And, trying to be gentle and
co-operative I'm no fan of that 'struttin around like
Capt Invincible horse-in-my-shorts
testosterone-overload male-macho-bullsh*t trip'
power behaviour.

'Let's party for the rest of the night and sort the other
stuff in the morningwe may not get this chance
again' I 'under' rather than 'over' workjust enough
to cover financial needs & reasonable wants or do
something I feel ought to be done. Though I've high
standards and personal pride, I don't want to 'excel
beyond expectation', 'strive to be the best' or master
anything other than my own destiny.
----

So yeah, dirty deed done, I shall now quietly shuffle
offstage and retire to the corner.
